The Standard Model (SM), our best understanding of fundamental particle interactions, is incomplete. Why is there a matter-antimatter asymmetry? What is the nature of Electroweak Symmetry Breaking? Does the muon hide secret interactions with a fifth force? In recent years we have seen an increasing number of anomalous lepton and flavour measurements arising from experiments such as D0, LEP, LHCb, BaBar, Belle, ATLAS and Muon g-2. Are these connected? What can we do to study them further? Thanks to its high mass, the top quark may be uniquely sensitive to new physics. I will explore how we can exploit this particle through Effective Field Theories to provide complementary probes for new physics in lower energy interactions.
