How to pay your fees

How to pay your fees

How your fees are paid to Royal Holloway depends on who is paying them - yourself, a sponsor, or a government loan, for instance.

Get specific information for Royal Holloway international students only.

Have you applied through the International Study Centre or our partner Study Group (via an agent)? If so DO NOT pay your deposit to Royal Holloway as it will not be accepted - you must make a deposit payment VIA STUDY GROUP ONLY.

Study Group deposit payment must be paid via https://pay.studygroup.com/login and refer to details in your offer letter or email studentpayments@studygroup.com  for help.

Don’t get caught out by fraudsters! Please take care when deciding how to pay your fees. Fraudsters specifically target students so take care not to put yourself at risk. Follow our preferred ways of paying your fees, as they are safe and secure - if you choose to use an alternative route of payment you may put your money, and yourself, at risk. How might you get caught out? Find out here.

The university cannot accept payment from any sanctioned individual or organisation.

Please note you cannot make payments to the university using Convera GlobalPay if you, or the payer, is resident in and/or the payment is originating from any of the following areas:

Tuition and accommodation fees can be paid online or by international bank transfer.

Paying online

You can pay your own fees online using Campus Connect.

Parents or third parties can pay fees using our EPay service.

Online payments appear on your account by 6pm the next working day.

Please note: we do not accept American Express and Diners cards.

Paying via bank transfer

We offer a quick and secure way to make international bank transfers in partnership with Convera GlobalPay This cannot be used for UK Bank Transfers.

When making a payment yourself, ask your bank to quote:

  • Student’s name.
  • Student’s nine digit reference number.
  • What the payment is for (e.g tuition instalment, full fee, accommodation)
  • Make the transfer with all handling charges for the account of the payer.

Make sure your payment is processed by your bank at least five working days before it is due.

To minimise the risks around fraud and money laundering to both the student and the University, we strongly discourage students from making direct bank transfers to the University. Direct bank transfers should only be used on request, and in exceptional circumstances. Students are expected to pay their University fees using one of the preferred payment methods above.

Royal Holloway bank details can be accessed here on campus or using the Campus Anywhere service.

Check your payment has been received on Campus Connect.

Royal Holloway is recognised by a large number of scholarship bodies for sponsorship of students' courses. You may alternatively have acquired sponsorship through your company or another funding body.

If a third party, e.g government embassy, employer or recognised funding body (other than Student Finance England), is paying part, or all, of your fees we must see the original letter confirming the level of your support, before you start your programme.

If, at enrolment, the online information is showing the full fee is payable by you, you should still sign up online.  However, you won’t be able to complete your enrolment until a formal sponsor's guarantee to make payment to Royal Holloway has been seen and recorded by us.

Please email a copy of the original letter to the Student Fees team. An invoice will be issued to your sponsor once you are fully enrolled by end of November.

Please note that Royal Holloway does not produce sponsor invoices for accommodation fees. If a sponsor has agreed to pay the fees for your accommodation please forward a copy of the student invoice to them for payment. You can download a copy of the invoices for the current academic year from the finance tab of Campus Connect.
