I teach on the Humanities strand of the Integrated Foundation Degree

I am a Doctoral Candidate in Medieval Literature, working on a College-funded project on Middle English dream-vision and romance narratives. Some of these narratives may be familiar to you - for instance, the Chaucerian and Arthurian stories; however, others I look at - such as the more obscure and anonymously authored texts - may not be (yet!). I completed a BA in English (2015-18) and an MA in Medieval Studies (2018-19), both at Royal Holloway. In addition to my area of research, I have experience teaching critical thinking and academic skills modules and became an AFHEA in 2021.

I initially struggled with the transition to university study. Had the Integrated Foundation Year been available to me before my undergraduate degree (the IFY started in 2019), I feel that it would have helped me thrive as a critically thinking Humanities student a lot sooner!

As a bit about me, I am originally from Wales and am a Welsh speaker. I adore spending any spare time with my dogs, exploring Virginia Water and competing in flyball. My collie cross terrier, Jasper, has been with me at Royal Holloway since 2016 and has a bit of a name for himself across campus – do come and say hello if you ever see him around!
