Our Research Strengths
The Department has an active postgraduate research community, is well-equipped for research, and is situated on a beautiful campus close to London. We were ranked 3rd among UK Psychology Departments in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF), with 100% of our research impact classified as 4* world-leading.
Research in the department spans a breadth of topics across psychological sciences and neuroscience. We are supported by excellent facilities including an onsite, research-dedicated functional MRI facility, EEG, TMS, tDCS and eye-tracking; as well as labs dedicated to sleep, vestibular-multisensory integration, psychophysiology, psycholinguistics and infant cognition.
