What made you choose Psychology at Royal Holloway?

I’ve worked in the Department for 13 years on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, so I already know how fantastic the department is in relation to research and teaching, and what a friendly and supportive department we are, with great colleagues!  Moving across into Psychology main will be an interesting and exciting new challenge, heading up the MSc in Clinical Psychology.

Can you tell us a little about the research you will carry out at RHUL?

I’m interested in understanding paranoid beliefs, as they occur in both clinical populations and in the general population.  I also research psychological therapies for paranoia, and recently, my work has focused on understanding if mindfulness is beneficial for people with paranoia.

What do you think will be the best part of teaching our students?

I’m really looking forward to meeting and working with students who share my passion for clinical psychology!  I’m particularly excited by the prospect of supervising students, where together, we can work on clinically-relevant research projects to find out new and interesting things about paranoia!

What do you do outside of work?

I enjoy spending time with my family, mountain biking (particularly in the French Alps!) and I’ve just started learning to play tennis – I’m working hard on perfecting my serve!!!
