Dr. Hirotaka Imada, a lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London, has been awarded the Solomon Asch Early Career Prize from the Social Psychological Bulletin, a diamond open-access journal of the Polish Social Psychological Society.

The Social Psychological Bulletin, a diamond open-access journal of the Polish Social Psychological Society, awards the Solomon Asch Early Career Prize to the best paper published in the journal by early career researchers.

This year, the prize was awarded to Dr. Hirotaka Imada in the Department of Psychology and Joseph Mason (University of Leeds). 

Dr. Hirotaka Imada received the prize for his paper, "Does the Sense of Power Influence Reputational Concern? Tests with Episodic and Semantic Power Priming." In his work, he challenged the common assuption about the link between a high sense of power and reputational concern. His findings have been covered by a popular science magazine, EurekAlert!. His short talk about the paper has been presented at the 19th General Meeting of the Polish Society for Social Psychology.

Commenting on the prize, Dr Imada said, "I am honored to receve the Solomon Asch Early Career Prize. This recognition is a reflection of the support I received from my mentors, colleagues, and friends during my PhD years. I hope to offer the same guidance and support to future generations of researchers, and I look foward to collaborating and growing together with them."
