Senior Lecturer Dr Ursula Hackett was awarded a British Academy Mid-Career Fellowship (£132,750) for the project Polarized Politics: How Legislators and Judges Do Battle. The project investigates how legislators deal with the elevated risk of legal challenge to their policy commitments during polarised times, as well as how courts respond to legislators.
