The world of commissions on RTÉ Lyric FM

Recorded at Mary Dullea’s annual Fidelio Trio Winter Chamber Music Festival in Belvedere House, Dublin City University, The Culture File Debate was broadcast on RTÉ Lyric FM on 23 December and is still available to listen here: https://www.rte.ie/radio/lyricfm/clips/22337055/ The panel of Mary Dullea, and composers, Rhona Clarke and John Buckley, talk to Luke Clancy about music commissions: getting and giving.

Mary featured in ‘Contemplating Morty’ at Cafe Oto

This month sees performances in two evenings dedicated to the music of Morton Feldman, ‘Contemplating Morty’ at Cafe Oto on 16 and 17 January. A retrospective of the music for piano and strings by this hugely influential composer, his quiet, intimate, and luminous compositions weave sounds inspired by both his relationships with visual arts and obsession with Persian tapestries.
