Alumna Kaisa Matomäki wins the Ruth Lyttle Satter Prize in Mathematics for her outstanding contributions in the last six years.

The Ruth Lyttle Satter prize is awarded every two years by the American Mathematical Society to recognise an outstanding contribution to mathematics research by a woman in the previous six years. Matomäki studied for her PhD at Royal Holloway under the supervision of Glyn Harman and graduated in 2009. Since then she received the European Mathematical Society (EMS) Prize in 2020, and together with her collaborator, Maksym Radziwiłł, she has received the Sastra-Ramanujan prize in 2016 and the New Horizons Prize in Mathematics in 2019. They were jointly invited speakers at ICM in 2018.
