The Department of Law and Criminology at Royal Holloway, University of London is looking for new highly-qualified and forward-thinking professionals to join our team!
The Department of Law and Criminology is part of the School of Law and Social Sciences, alongside the Departments of Economics, Politics and International Relations, Philosophy, and Social Work. The Department of Law and Criminology is looking to hire on a permanent basis four more colleagues to join our team:
- A lecturer in law (teaching focused) – see here;
- A lecturer in law (teaching and research) – see here;
- A senior lecturer in law on the professional practice track – see here;
- A senior lecturer in criminology – see here.
One of the lecturer positions will be teaching focused and will lead on the student life cycle, addressing a priority around student welfare. Experience in distance learning will be an advantage. For the other lecturer position, we are seeking to add to our research strength primarily in the area of sustainability.
The senior lecturer in Law post is offered on the professional practice track, and experience in legal practice that can support the development of the Student Legal Advice Centre is sought. The senior lecturer in Criminology is offered either on the teaching focused or the professional practice track. Experience in developing educational programmes through non-traditional routes and/or extensive experience of working with criminal justice agencies will be an advantage.
Each of the positions include teaching undergraduate core subjects, and we are interested in candidates with teaching expertise in any core subject. In the law posts we are also keen to develop our teaching portfolio in the law relating to environmental law, medical law, contentious property law and private international law. The ability to contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including the supervision of doctoral students and the development of specialist options to reflect specific areas of expertise, is sought. For the criminology post, experience of teaching Gender and Crime and Policing will be an advantage.
The positions are available from September 2021 and the deadline for applications is 16 July 2021 (18 July for the criminology post).
