Contributing to the eradication of trafficking, the ACTIVATE project aims to step up actions on the prevention, identification and support mechanisms against trafficking in human beings (THB), with a special focus on Victims of Trafficking (VoT) for sexual exploitation.

Dr Giovanni Travaglino and Emese Szász (Department of Law and Criminology - Royal Holloway, University of London) have been invited to attend an exchange meeting on “ACTIVATE” - enhancing anti-trafficking identification, prevention, and support mechanisms in Rome on the 7th of October.

ACTIVATE is funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund and aims to step up actions on the prevention, identification and support mechanisms against trafficking in human beings, with a particular focus on victims of trafficking for sexual exploitation. The two-year-long project is implemented by partner organisations in Italy (Differenza Donna), Germany (SOLWODI- Solidarity with women in distress), Greece (KMOP- Social Action and Innovation Center) and Bulgaria (Animus Association Foundation).

Emese Szász will contribute with other experts to panels discussions on reflecting on existing prejudices and stereotypes, communication channels and key messages.
