Dr Emily Glorney was presented with the award on 2nd March 2022 at the Summit for Key Stakeholders for Implementing School Inclusion, held at Royal Holloway, University of London.
The event reviewed the impact of the research on permanent school exclusion, led by Dr Emily Glorney. Dr Emily Glorney received the award for outstanding research work on permanent school exclusion in Surrey which has helped young people stay in education. All project reports and documents can be accessed here.
Many of the recommendations of the research have been implemented by Surrey County Council and taken up by Surrey Police and third sector organisations to make a difference to the lives of children and young people in Surrey. The award also recognises the appreciation of the people of Surrey for the contribution which enhances life of the community.
