On 20th September Alexander Gilder and Sabrina White (University of Leeds) convened an interdisciplinary workshop on the local, militarisation, and peacekeeping.

The workshop was funded by an award from the British International Studies Association’s Postgraduate Network. Alex and Sabrina used the funding to bring together postgraduates, established academics and practitioners to discuss current and future research agendas on the local and peacekeeping. Themes discussed included the pursuit of gender equality and gender justice, involving the communities in the protection of civilians, and emerging tensions when peacekeeping missions empower the host state.
