The latest Research Excellence Framework, REF 2021 results published on Thursday confirm Royal Holloway’s position as a world-leading research-intensive university in the area of Electronic Engineering.
The REF21 results have confirmed that
- 93% of research output has been classified as 4* and 3* world-leading and internationally excellent in terms of originality, significance and rigour, positioning our research output among the best in the UK.
- 78% of research overall has been judged to be 4* and 3* world-leading and internationally excellent, recognising the contribution of our academics, who strive to find ingenious solutions that improve lives across society.
This is a very encouraging result for a young department making a first time submission to the REF.
