Subduction systems
My research revolves around understanding subduction systems from the mechanics of earthquakes to the tectonic processes responsible for material transfer and the evolution of continental crust. I am interested in the structure of fault zones involved in aseismic and seismic deformation (and everything in the middle!) that I study through measurements of natural fault samples and laboratory studies of both modern and fossil subduction systems. I also am interested in transform faults and fracture zones to understand their seismic activity source and evolution in time.
