Royal Holloway-trained geologist receives award in Cape Town
Royal Holloway-trained geologist, Selma Usiku, has won the coveted Global Women Petroleum & Energy Award for Excellence in Africa 2018 at the Future Energy Africa event held in Cape Town. Selma is an Exploration Geologist with Azinam, a leading oil & gas exploration company, and trained on Royal Holloway's MSc in Petroleum Geoscience programme in 2016/17.
The Global Women Petroleum & Energy Club Awards have been recognising excellence in oil, gas and energy every year since 2000 and one of their aims is to provide a platform for women in the upstream petroleum sector. Annually they select a woman in the industry that is demonstrating leadership in her field. This year that award goes to Selma.
