  • Date10 November 2022

The Classics department invites expressions of interest in the 2022-23 ECR Leverhulme Fellowship scheme.

The Fellowships are for early career researchers, with a research record but who have not yet held a full-time permanent academic post, to undertake a significant piece of publishable work. and are tenable for three years. More details on the scheme, including eligibility, are available at https://www.leverhulme.ac.uk/early-career-fellowships.

You can find more information about staff and our research at https://www.royalholloway.ac.uk/research-and-teaching/departments-and-schools/classics/research/. We particularly welcome applications from researchers who belong to under-represented and marginalised groups, and direct interested applicants to our departmental statement on inclusivity at https://www.royalholloway.ac.uk/research-and-teaching/departments-and-schools/classics/studying-here/undergraduate/inclusivity/.

We will be taking part in an internal School-level selection process within the College to determine which applications are put forward to the final competition. Interested applicants should contact the departmental research lead, Jari Pakkanen (j.pakkanen@rhul.ac.uk), as soon as possible in order to leave sufficient time for developing proposals for submission. They will need to provide a one A4 page summary of their planned project and a maximum two-page CV by noon on 18 November 2022; they will also need to identify a potential mentor in the department.
