What is your ultimate career dream/ambition that you would love to achieve after studying Management at Royal Holloway?

I am still undecided on what direction my dream career will take but I would love to have the opportunity to work in as many different countries and cultures as possible!

What led you to want to study Management at Royal Holloway in the first place?

I like the flexibility of the Management course at Royal Holloway, I like that we are able to benefit from the diversity of courses included in Management and specialise in a specific area of interest at the same time. I’ve always had an interest in managerial practices and theories specifically in an international context and who could say no to studying management on a campus as beautiful as Royal Holloway?!

What’s your favourite thing about Management here at Royal Holloway?

The people, definitely!  We are one of the biggest departments on campus and there is such a big diversity of people on the course – it’s a really interesting environment to study in!

What does diversity mean to you in the School and around campus? What are the benefits of the diversity in the School do you think?

Diversity for me means being surrounded by people from all over the world, from different backgrounds and walks of life. I definitely think it positively contributes to your studies at Royal Holloway because you’re constantly exposed to different views and ideas.

What is your ultimate career dream/ambition that you would love to achieve after studying Management at Royal Holloway?

My ultimate ambition post Royal Holloway would to be a Management Consultant at a top firm, or to reach a high managerial position at a multinational enterprise particularly in the motoring or transportation industry.

What led you to want to study Management at Royal Holloway in the first place?

Along with the beautiful campus, the passion in which the staff showed since my first open day made me know that Royal Holloway was going to be my university. This is further supported by the Year in Business programme in which the university offers, compared to other universities the commitment in which the staff give and encouragement to engage with the scheme was amazing- it really showed how much the staff believed in the students.

What’s your favourite thing about Management here at Royal Holloway?

The community feel of Management at Royal Holloway is something which I enjoy, the fact as first years all management students have lectures together as well as the first term in second year really allows you to make connections and see familiar faces. The staff as well clearly are all experts of their field and this is expressed with genuine passion when speaking in lectures or seminars.

What does diversity mean to you in the School and around campus? What are the benefits of the diversity in the School do you think?

Diversity means to me the variety of different things or people. This is reflected in the school by the international nature of the management students. When in seminar groups you have the opportunity to engage much more closely with fellow students and the diversity amongst us allows for different perceptions and understandings on a variety of cases which can really help to writing essays and in exams. Within the subjects taught in the School of Management diversity is present with the mixture of staff all from a variety of backgrounds from maths to sociology. This is reflected in the variety of courses that are offered in the school which allows for in-depth understanding of management as a whole.

What led you to want to study Management at Royal Holloway in the first place?

When I visited Royal Holloway for the first time on an open day back in 2015, I knew I wanted to study here in the School of Management! Not only did I think the campus was beautiful, but I loved that it was a small campus-based university with a large Management department.

I also really wanted to study a combined degree of Management and Economics, and Royal Holloway was one of the few universities to offer this course. It really appealed to me as the choice of courses in both disciplines meant I would get a really good grounding in both subject areas, as well as being able to specialise in particular Management subject areas I was interested in.

There is a wide diversity in the teaching and subjects taught here at Royal Holloway and students have a wide diversity of career ambitions, as well as the range students from many different cultures, nationalities and backgrounds.

The benefit of being part of a such a diverse campus community is that it is so easy to make friends with people not just within your degree course but also through societies, sports clubs, volunteering and the many other opportunities available across campus. It’s great to be surrounded by so many people with different interests, ideas and experiences as this really enhances your overall learning and university experience!

How everyone is willing to help each other, there is no such barrier between seminar leaders/ lecturers and the students. We can all discuss various things and share our own opinions with any issues.

What does diversity mean to you in the School and around campus? What are the benefits of the diversity in the School do you think?

Diversity within the university allows all of us to learn from each other from a more diverse point of view. It is important to understand what others are thinking and what they’re trying to do. With such diversity, it allows us to explore the different cultures, background, and the way to deal these things/issues. With such variety, it’d allow us to think outside the box and have more ideas when we try to solve different problems.
