School of Business and Management students increasingly positive in 2024 National Student Survey

We’re delighted to announce significant improvements across all subjects for the School of Business and Management in this year’s National Student Survey results.

The National Student Survey (NSS) is an important benchmark as it asks final year students to give their opinions covering themes directly relating to student experience from their time at the university. Questions are asked about the quality of teaching and support, learning resources and outcomes, assessment and feedback, university services and facilities, plus the impact of the student voice. The data is collected anonymously, allowing students to give honest answers, and results are provided as a positivity score, which is based on an average of all 27 questions asked of students.

This year's scores position us as*:

  • Finance; up to 12th in 2024 (top quartile)
  • Marketing; up to 24th in 2024 (top quartile)
  • Accounting; up to 38th in 2024 (top half of the sector)
  • Business Studies; up to 33rd in 2024 (top half of the sector)
  • Management Studies; up to 17th in 2024 (top half of the sector)

At institution level Royal Holloway also saw an increased positive response, with 81% average satisfaction, which is a larger improvement than seen across the sector. We see the NSS as an opportunity to listen to feedback on the students’ time studying with us, taking this information forward to further develop our offering to current and future students. Our aim is to provide the best possible education experience as we develop the business leaders of the future.
