Royal Holloway named UK's Most Beautiful University

  • Date25 October 2017

Royal Holloway, University of London has scooped the accolade of the UK’s Most Beautiful University following an online competition that attracted over 21,000 votes on the Holiday Lettings website. The university won with 31% of the votes.

Royal Holloway has an impressive combination of historic and modern buildings. The spectacular Grade I listed Founder’s Building, founded by entrepreneur Thomas Holloway and opened in 1886, is home to the famous Picture Gallery and a beautiful chapel.

The state-of-the-art Emily Wilding Davison Building, which was officially opened this October encompasses a library, student services centre and careers and employability services, as well as event and exhibition spaces, providing space and resources to meet the needs of students today. The modern building is striking and sensitive in design and delivers breath-taking views of the Founder’s Building, London’s skyline and Surrey’s picturesque countryside.
