Professor Julia Koricheva, from the School of Biological Sciences at Royal Holloway University of London, has today been named in the 2018 Highly Cited Researchers list.

Professor Julia Koricheva

The list, formed by Clarivate Analytics, identifies scientists who have published multiple highly cited papers during the last decade and are ranked in the top one per cent by citations for a publication field and year. Julia is featured in a Cross-Field category which identifies researchers who have contributed to highly cited papers across several different fields.

As a Professor of Ecology in the School of Biological Sciences’ Centre for Ecology, Evolution and Behaviour, Julia’s main areas of research include forest diversity and ecosystem functioning, plant-herbivore interactions, and methods and applications of meta-analysis in ecology.

Meta-analysis is a statistical approach which allows to combine the results of different studies addressing the same research questions. It can be used in any area of science to resolve controversies and reveal general patterns which inform policy and management guidelines. Julia’s most cited papers, including a recent review in Nature, appear in this area of research.

Speaking of the announcement, Julia said: “It’s a great honour to earn this distinction and it’s wonderful to know that my work is being read and recognised amongst my peers across different research fields.”

The School of Biological Sciences at Royal Holloway is internationally recognised for the quality of its teaching and research. Click here to find out more about Professor Julia Koricheva’s work.
