Royal Holloway is continuing to develop its historic estate to provide a 21st-century campus that meets the needs of everyone visiting, studying and working at the university today and in the future.
Earlier this year two planning applications were made to Runnymede Borough Council relating to the Rusham Park site. A further application has now been registered for a new internal link road between Runnymede Hall and the Sports Centre and minor alternations along the existing internal university road network. This short section of new private road will allow a more direct vehicular route for internal university maintenance, service and delivery vehicles to gain access to the Sports Centre from the main site and visa versa, thereby avoiding the need to use the Prune Hill. This application is now being considered by the Council, who are inviting comments to be made to them by the 23 March 2020. More information on the proposed link road is available here.
A planning application for the relocation of the Handa Noh Theatre, to north of the A30 next to the College Sutherland House Arts complex, will be submitted imminently.
The preparation of planning applications for both the Eastern Gateway Building and Car park 14 are proceeding with a provisional submission date of early May.
The development plans shared at the public consultation events are available here.
