Royal Holloway, will host the 2024 Runnymede and Spelthorne Volunteer Awards, in partnership with Voluntary Support North Surrey on Monday 3 June on its Egham Campus.
The awards recognise the work of volunteers in the local community, as well as wider social action projects and volunteering carried out by student volunteers at the University.
Award categories include the Outstanding Social Action Award, Outstanding Community Action Award and the Outstanding Community Partner, given to local community partner who have gone above and beyond to offer opportunities to volunteers this year.
Last year, more than 300 guests attended the event. The winners this year will be announced online after the event takes place.
Louise McGarr, Interim Volunteering Manager at Royal Holloway said: “Royal Holloway Volunteering value our relationship with VSNS, and aside from the pandemic years, this will be the tenth year that we have co-hosted The Runnymede and Spelthorne Awards with VSNS.
“These Awards are an intergenerational celebration of the remarkable volunteering that both students and residents across both boroughs contribute to our communities on a daily basis.
“Volunteers are the glue that bind our communities together, and as a University of Social Purpose we are committed to ensure our volunteers’ endeavours do not go unnoticed.”
