Royal Holloway’s Love in a Box appeal

Royal Holloway’s Love in a Box appeal

Royal Holloway’s volunteering team organised its annual Love in a Box appeal for the 10th year, in support of the Foundation for Social Change and Inclusion (FSCI) Christmas Box Appeal.

Love in a Box appeal

The Love in A Box appeal encourages students and staff at Royal Holloway to donate a unique Christmas present put together in a box. The boxes are then donated via FSCI, to children, women and men living in poverty throughout Southeast Europe. The presents show people who are living in poverty that they are loved and help FSCI to build bridges with the local communities.

In total, students and staff donated 31 shoeboxes. The gifts inside included gloves, toothbrushes, soap, socks, and toys to keep children entertained, and were collected by FSCI to be sent to South East Europe in time for Christmas.

Royal Holloway third-year student, Olivia Migliari, who led the appeal, said: “We’re thankful to all the students and staff who donated a shoebox filled with gifts for this year’s Love in a Box appeal.

“The appeal seems even more necessary this year, knowing that there will be a lot of vulnerable children and families across South East Europe who may not have a Christmas like you or I and as a team, we feel very lucky to have been given the opportunity to run such an inspiring project despite the current circumstances.”
